In a few months I will have spent 7 years or about forty percent of my life at ACLC. I have grown in more ways than I can count. Throughout seven years of ACLC I have learned more than I ever thought possible academically and grown skills and relationships that will lead to great future success. I have always been dedicated to the things I enjoy such as my successful ten year gymnastics career and because of ACLC I have learned the skills I needed to take it further and become a gymnastics coach, working with up to twenty kids at a time year-round for two years now. I've learned how to balance my schedule to the point at which I can work four days a week, have full time schooling and attend college classes along with so much more on a daily basis.

One of my biggest personal qualities is my work ethic which leads me to always strive for more; this quality has been reinforced all throughout my time at ACLC. I will certainly use time management along with many other non-academic skills daily for years to come. ACLC has jump started my work ethic to the point at which I am as dedicated as many of the thirty year olds are at my job.  There is still plenty of time for improvement and learning to come throughout my senior year and the rest of my life. I have mastered many things in my educational career such as calculus, biology, and politics however, the work I found to be the most applicable to my future was working on the job application process. With this lesson I have been given a fair opportunity at attaining a job and career.

I think real world skills are one of the most important things to learn in schools and so few schools give you that; Learning information everyone needs to know for any field they may be interested in. I am able to solve problems and find solutions to daily situations from my extensive math and engineering practice in both on paper and real-world practice problems my teachers have introduced me to. These thinking and reasoning skills lead me to being able to solve anything life throws at me.  Now that I have adjusted to how free and open the school is, I will know what to expect and what is required in everyday life. For example, I will know not to rely on extra credit opportunities and that you must respect deadlines by completing tasks by the timeframe expected by you. It is nice to have the option to explore my own options in my learning career and have learned to have more responsibility than any college student around me as a high school student.

One great thing ACLC embodies is their interpersonal and collaborative abilities that they pass on to each and everyone of their students. Through group projects, science fair, and day to day life at ACLC I Have learned how to communicate anything I so please. I was taught from them to speak my mind when given the  right motivation which has allowed me to progress in political action and day to day discussions. ACLC has allowed me to have the ability to get along with anyone which will help me endlessly throughout life along with my ability to be approachable; allowing me a headstart in all situations. My group project skills have been mastered due to ACLC’s reliance on group projects as a teaching method. Through group presentations I have learned to come out of my shell and sell just about anything. My future success will certainly be aided my ability to persuade and present.

Through the project presentation process, I have become quite familiar with countless mediums for presenting information and a majority of those involve technology. As a generation Z baby, it is very important that I keep up with our technology based society and ACLC had allowed me to do that. On a daily basis we are encouraged to do most of our assignments both in class and as homework on the computer. This allows me to gain familiarity with technological devices and influence how I do my work through college and my life. Technology is only going to get more important throughout our generation and it is important I learn computer skills inside and outside of school. Technology skills along with many other skills I have learned during my seven years at ACLC will prepare me for my future In helping me to achive my hopes and dreams.
